In addition to our animal medical fund, the SCRAPS Hope Foundation offers many services and programs to our community including free training classes, behavior evaluations of our animals to make sure they are placed in the right home, and humane education programs for children. These additional programs and services are supported solely by donations.
Sophie is a beautiful, older lab that came into SCRAPS after her owner could no longer take care of her. Warm and cuddly, she was the perfect companion except for a problem with right her eye. She seemed to favor it and from her behavior you could tell she was in constant pain. A vet exam showed a tumor behind her eye.
The eye had to be removed.
Once the surgery was over and the pain was gone, Sophie transformed into a puppy again. She was adopted by a special family and lives a happy, healthy life thanks to donations made to the SCRAPS Hope Foundation's Animal Medical Fund.
